一筆之間，是什麼？
《一筆之間》是一場關於時間、自然與內心的對話。
Artist & Exhibition
Between Strokes marks Elaine Wong’s first solo exhibition and an important stage in her artistic journey. Rooted in Chinese calligraphy, the exhibition brings together ink, cyanotype, gold leaf and negative space to explore time, silence and the inner state of being.
In a world increasingly shaped by speed and constant distraction, the exhibition invites us to pause and reconsider the moments that exist between each action.
A stroke is both a beginning and an ending. What lies between them — the pause, the space, the breath — is where meaning unfolds. Between Strokes is an invitation to slow down, to look again, and to find one’s own rhythm within the space between.
《一筆之間》是Elaine Wong 的首個個人展覽，也是她藝術探索歷程中的重要階段。展覽以中國書法為根基，結合墨、藍曬、金箔及留白，探索時間、寂靜與內在心境。
在一個由速度與資訊主導的時代，人往往着眼於結果，而忽略每一個過程本身；《一筆之間》希望讓觀者重新留意那些存在於行動與結果之間的片刻。
一筆既是開始，也是結束；而真正值得體會的，或許正是存在於一筆與一筆之間的停頓、空間與呼吸。《一筆之間》邀請觀者放慢一點，再看一眼，在留白之中，尋找屬於自己的節奏。
YOUR JOURNEY｜展覽五章
Every stroke begins before the brush touches the paper.
《一筆之間》是一場關於回歸的旅程。我們終其一生，不斷向外追尋——追求成就、速度、答案與方向。

Every stroke begins with stillness.
每一筆，始於一份靜止。
在落筆之前，先有停頓。
書寫從一念開始，也從安靜開始。

It all begins here.
一切，由此展開。
當筆墨開始流動，形、勢與節奏逐漸出現。
一筆牽引另一筆，作品在過程中自然生成。

What we see outside begins from the inner self.
所見於外，始於內心。
當我們慢下來，才開始看見自己的情緒與感受。
書寫亦成為一種向內的觀看。

In emptiness, there is space for everything to emerge.
空，讓一切得以發生。
留白並非空無，而是一種存在。
在未被書寫的地方，仍然有呼吸、想像與可能。

Moving forward is also a return.
向前而行，亦是回歸。
走過觀看、探索與尋找，最終回到自己。
一筆落下，也是一個重新安頓自己的開始。
從「一」到「無」，再到「行」，這不只是一段由開始、留白到行動的旅程，也是一個持續往返於內在與外在的過程。
一筆落下，留下痕跡；一筆之間，容納可能。

一｜The Beginning
“One” refers to the beginning of universe, and the beginning of every stroke. In its simplicity lies infinite possibility — a return to the essence beneath complexity.
「一」是萬物的起點，也是每一筆的開始。它看似簡單，卻蘊含無限可能。在紛繁之中回到最初，或許能讓我們重新看見事物的本質。
無｜Emptiness
“Emptiness” is not the absence, but the space in which possibilities emerge. Inspired by Taoism, it invites us to release our preconceptions and see anew.
「無」並非一無所有，而是為萬物留下生長的空間。受道家思想啟發，留白不只是畫面中的空處，也是一種容納、放下與重新觀看的可能。
行｜Movement
“Xing” speaks of movement, action and putting ideas into practice. In the year marking the 160th Anniversary of “Sun Yat-sen’s Birth”, the character offers a point of reflection on his philosophy of “When the going gets tough, the tough get going,” which emphasised the importance of practice in human progress.
Within this exhibition, “Xing” also returns to the act of creation itself: ideas need not remain abstract, but can take shape through action. When understanding emerges, the next step is to move forward.
「行」既是行走，也是實踐。2026 年適逢孫中山先生誕辰 160 周年，這個字亦讓人聯想到其提出的「知難行易」思想 — 強調實踐在人類進步中的重要性。
在本次展覽中，「行」同時回到創作本身：思想不必停留於觀念，而可以透過行動，逐步成為現實。當心有所悟，下一步便是走出去。
HOW TO EXPERIENCE THE EXHIBITION
Slow down and take your time.
You do not need to understand every character immediately.
Begin with the lines. Notice the movement of the brush. Then look at the space between them.
Observe how a stroke begins, moves and comes to rest.
Perhaps, somewhere between the strokes, you may discover something of your own.
慢一點看。
您不需要急於理解每一個字。
可以先看線條，再看筆勢，然後留意空白。
看看一筆如何開始，如何行進，又如何停下。
也許在一筆與一筆之間，您會看見一些屬於自己的東西。
